Whether you love him or you hate him.....

We need Alex Rodriguez.

Courtesy of Peter Abraham:

The Yankees have used Cody Ransom, Ramiro Pena and Angel Berroa at third base in the absence of Rodriguez. They have hit a combined .202 with a .248 OBP and a .283 SLG. They have no home runs and 10 RBI.

These numbers speak for themselves. Even if you hate A-Rod (as I am getting close to considering the tipping of the pitches), he makes this line-up much deeper.

Hopefully he plays well tonight, gives Teixeira some good pitches to look at and the Yankees do something with the catching situation because if we have Cervelli and Cash for an extended period of time, kiss the playoffs goodbye.

Back with more tomorrow (possibly)

Update:

Of course A-Rod hit a home run on the 1st pitch, of course he did.

Steven Jackson gets Designated for Assignment to make room for Kevin Cash. This is confusing, his hits per 9 innings at AAA were not that great, but he had a 1.88 ERA and with A-Rod coming back, the obvious move is to DFA Angel Berroa. Interesting. Kinda makes you feel like more moves are on the way. Stay tuned!

Update #2

This has absolutely nothing to do with baseball, at all, but being the huge movie nerd that I am, I had to tell all of you to go to http://www.mnuspreadslies.com/post.php?id=331 and check out the new trailer for the upcoming film District-9, it is going to be amazing.
