Mo won't like it.....

But Angel Berroa has to go.

Jorge Posada is coming back from the DL today and Thank God. This will be the first time all year that the Yankees are available to play their full line-up this year and yes, that included Brett Gardner OVER Melky Cabrera.

In May, Brett Gardner is actually doing better than Melky Cabrera with rates of .357/.449/.619 compared to Melky's .321/.348/.429, but that is besides the point. With Posada coming back, they will obviously need to get rid of a player to make room for him. I understand that few teams carry three catchers, but if anyone can tell me what role Angel Berroa is playing for the Yankees right now, please let me know.

Xavier Nady will be back in a few weeks and as we all know, Jorge Posada has dealt with some injuries lately, so why not carry three catchers for a few weeks? First off, it allows you to DH Posada more regularily. Also, if Posada is DH'ing, you can pinch hit for Cervelli or Cash late in the game, and still have another catcher to bring in. It gives you many more options off the bench. Nady will be back in a few weeks, so this will not be a long term thing.

Angel Berroa on the other hand has been with this team for a while now. His first game came on April 25th against Boston, so he has been here for more than a month. In that time span, he has played in only 13 games. In those 13 games, he has had only 12 AB, in those 12 AB, he has had only 2 hits (both singles) and zero walks. He is not good, he never plays, and more importantly, there is no way in the world he is only 31. Give me a break. Anything he can do, Ramiro Pena can do better. I understood at 1st keeping Angel around because you did not know if A-Rod's hip would hold up, but now, what is Berroa doing for this team?

So what do you guys think? Does Angel actually have a role with this team that I am not realizing? Does he not have a role but you still disagree with carrying three catchers? Or are you on board with the three catcher idea?

After the whole Chien-Ming Wang situation, if the Yankees do not DFA Angel Berroa, they will only be making me more and more upset with them. If it makes sense to carry an extra infielder when A-Rod came back, why doesn't it make sense to carry an extra catcher with Posada coming back?

Just goes to show ya....
I am never right. The Yankees designated Kevin Cash for assignment. Someone, please, I am begging you, tell me what Angel Berroa is doing for this team!?!?! With Posada back, Cash wouldn't do anything for the team either, but at least he would provide more flexibility, and allow Posada to DH without any concerns.

Even with this move, the Yankees still need to DFA Angel Berroa. Shelley Duncan can at least provide an occasional pinch hit home run and Juan Miranda would be able to provide some pop off the bench as well. Berroa, he adds nothing to this team except for maybe telling fun and interesting stories from his rookie year in 1934.

What's the deal with Francisco Cervelli?

Talking to people lately about Francisco Cervelli, the man who due to injuries and lack of depth has been forced into the starting catcher's role, I think people's perspectives of this man may be off.

The kid is only 23 and he is performing well, but when it comes to the offense, don't expect it to last. Maybe the people reading this will disagree, but the people I have been speaking to lately thinks this man is the future of the team. He isn't, I am sorry. It seems as though people don't understand the concept of a small sample size. He has had only 33 AB this year and some people I have spoken to honestly believe he will be out next catcher. He is batting .303 this year, with 3 RBI. Very good for a guy who was hitting .190 at AA, not AAA, at AA Trenton this year before he was called up. Don't forget, Cody Ransom had 43 AB w/the Yankees last year and hit .302. This year, in 50 AB's before his inury, he was hitting .180.

Cervelli has had five career at bats before this year, he did not have a hit in any of those at bats. He is one for his last 9, has only drawn one walk this year and worst of all, of his ten hits this year, ten are singles.

Maybe people feel bad for him. I don't know how many of you remember this, but he was the player whose wrist was broken last year in Spring Training by the Tampa Bay Rays player.

Don't get me wrong, I like Cervelli. I like the passion he plays with and I love the defense he plays. He isn't afraid to try to throw someone out and he loves what he is doing. As many of you know (or none of you, yeah, probably none of you) Cervelli was in my post earlier in the season about most important Yankees because I wanted him to develop so next year he could be the back up catcher. Unfortunately for him, with the way Posada has gotten injured again, we may need to start looking at him as a part time catcher. We need to look at him as a guy who catches only about 80 games a year. With Matsui coming off the books, that will be good for Posada because he will be able to get many at bats at DH. But since Posada will possibly only be able to catch half the games, we need to sign a catcher who can technically be a starter, and that is not Cervelli.

When Posada and Molina come back, Cervelli may be shipped down to AA or AAA and unfortunately, we may never see him in any sort of extended or important role ever again, especially due to the continued development of Jesus Montero and Austin Romine. Enjoy this guy while you can, because I don't know how much longer it is going to last (his role, or his good hitting)

Yankees Panic; stuck with Wang

Well everybody, welcome back Chien Ming Wang!

After Joba Chamberlain left yesterdays game with a bruised knee and the bullpen had to pitch 8 1/3 innings, the Yankees panicked. Chien Ming Wang is now a reliever for the Yankees, but would you trust him in any role of any importance at this time? No? Neither would the Yankees and that is why we now have a $5 million mop up guy.

The Yankees had 2 more weeks where they could have used Wang at AAA sorting out his mechanics and getting to the place he has to be, but due to the fact that they panicked with Joba's injury, they are now stuck with him in a role where he can't pitch much and will not improve.

He showed yesterday he isn't ready, by giving up 2 runs, 6 hits and 1 walk in only 3 innings. Somehow though, just to show you how bad he has been this year, that ERA of 6.00 for the day LOWERED his ERA 9.50 points to an even 25.00.

The Yankees panicked. They have no intention of using Wang as a starter, so they should have let him stay at AAA. Alfredo Aceves has been amazing, some people have compared him to a modern day Ramiro Mendoza and I happen to agree, he may even be a little more useful. The Yankees could have called up Dave Robertson or Mark Melancon and let Wang continue to sort out his problems in Scranton.

I don't know what the Yankees are thinking. Terrible move. As of right now, it seems as though Joba will be making his next start without any complications. Wang can't help us right now and can't be used in high pressure situations so right now, he is just taking up a spot on the roster. The Yankees panicked, and it's going to come back to bite them

What do you guys think? Should the Yankees use Wang in a mop up roll so he can get in work against major league players or should they have kept him at AAA so he would be able to work as a starter and focus on getting back to normal without affecting the major league club?

Peavy NOT traded to the Sox......

................White Sox that is, not the Red Sox.

Maybe it is just me, but why? The White Sox are in 4th at 17-22 and 5 1/2 games back, and yes, I know it is early, but does Peavy really make the White Sox a World Series contender?

The White Sox have a decent enough team, but they have no center fielder, Jose Contreras just got sent to AAA, Gavin Floyd has a 7.71 ERA, Bartolo Colon is actually on their team and Paul Konerko and/or Jim Thome can fall apart at any moment.

On top of that, Peavy (if he agrees to the deal) is taking his 3.82 ERA from the pitcher friendly NL West, to the AL. How sure can we be that he will even be the Jake Peavy that we all know?

Maybe though, the Sox did this for the long run. He is owed $60.35 mil through 2012 with a $4mil buyout in 2013, or a $22 mil option in 2013 that Peavy will probably demand be picked up or else he wont accept the trade. So even though Peavy makes them a better team now, maybe this is really a move looking towards the future because they may be a good team with him now, but after moves are made, in 1 or 2 years they may be able to be a great team.

1:47- Peavy Update: Courtesy of http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick talked to Axelrod, who gave the impression that Peavy is leaning against accepting the trade:

"If I had to make a bet on it, I would guess that Jake would say he's not ready to take that step today. But he wouldn't necessarily preclude it at any time in the future."

Peavy maintains his strong preference for the NL.

This does not mean Peavy has or will said no, those are just the assumptions at this point.
Obviously, anything can happen and guaranteeing a 2013 salary of $22 million will def. help. I have class now and I am going to the Yankee game tonight, but I will try to update you guys as much as I can as the situation progresses.

2:10- Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union Tribune chimes in saying do not expect this deal to happen.

Final Update- Peavy declined the trade. He is a baby who is afraid to pitch in the AL.

Wins: The true way to determine a pitchers value

I get into this every now and again with my father and I have mentioned it on here before, but I think people need to stop looking at a pitchers win/loss record as a way to determine how good a pitcher is. Wins is so related to how your team hits, not just how a guy pitches. When Ted Lilly was traded by the Yankees, he was 3-6, which looks pretty bad, but his ERA was an above average 3.40.

Im not trying to make any bold statements here, just trying to open some eyes. Just to show an example, this year, Brad Penny is 4-1. His ERA: 6.07. Bronson Arroyo has 5 wins, yet his ERA is 6.56 (don't let Mike Francesa make you believe this guy is good). Finally, on the opposite end of the spectrum, everyone's old friend Barry Zito is a terrible 1-4 this year, but his era is a very respectable 3.62.

I'm not saying wins don't matter, they do, I'm just saying look a little deeper before you judge a pitcher.

Highlighting the past few days

Well, as you all know if you have been reading the blog, I predicted on Wednesday night that this would be the moment in the season that the Yankees turn it around. Not trying to toot my own horn here, especially because it has only been four games, but in the past four days, the Yankees are 4-0. Lets look at the key players in this time span

Andy Pettitte:
Threw 6 innings on Wednesday night only giving up 2 runs (1 earned). Got his third win of the year and lowered his ERA to an even 4.00. He did walk four and gave up 5 hits, but he kept it all together and got his team the win.

C.C. Sabathia:
After pitching a complete game shutout in his previous start, the big man took the mound on Thursday night and again gave a stellar performance. He went 8 innings, only gave up 2 runs, struck out 5 and lowered his ERA to 3.70

Phil Hughes:
By no stretch of the imagination did Phil Hughes pitch a good game last night, but considering he let 10 guys on base in only 5 innings and only 3 of them scored, he must be given points for at least keeping his team in the position to win.

Melky Cabrera:
Has cooled down in the past four games, only going 3/14, but had the oh-so-important walk-off, 2 run single on Friday night

Hideki Matsui:
Game winning home run on Thursday night and a pinch hit double that led to the game-tying run in today's game.

Derek Jeter:
Returned to the line-up on Thursday night to get the game tying single, had a solo homer Friday night and an important sacrifice bunt in today's game

Alex Rodriguez:
It seems as though he is scared to swing the bat right now, he either walks or strikes out, but, with that said, he has drawn 8 walks in the past four days including a very good at bat in the 9th inning Friday night, and of course, his one hit in the past four days was today when he hit a walk-off, 2 run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning

Mark Teixeira:
It seems as though he has finally woken up. He went 2/4 on Wednesday night with 2 RBI, had a single and a walk on Thursday, went 2/4 with a walk and an RBI on Friday and capped it off by going 4/4 today with a three run homer and a game tying RBI single. He has raised his average 36 points in the past four days and 47 points in the past four days. He has come up in clutch situations and showed lots of fire after he thought Carlos Gomez unfairly ran into him on Friday night. Seemed to pump him up and the team as well

and finally

Brett Gardner:
Has gone 5/12 in the past four games, raising his average 11 points. Two of these hits are triples, two are home runs. One of the homers was the 1st of his career and the other was an inside the park home run. He has also played stellar defense as always and also threw a runner out at home plate the other day to end a rally. I know I will be the only one to find this interesting, but Brett Gardner has two career home runs, but he has never hit the ball out of the ballpark in the United States of America. See. Told you you wouldn't find it interesting.

Well, that's it for now. Just some updates on how the players are performing. Hopefully they can keep it going and A.J. Burnett gives a performance worthy of being on this list.

Gardner leaves the Yard(ner)

Excuse the title of this blog, I am a loser, clearly, but I had to mention to all of you that Brett Gardner his his first career home run tonight. It was a MONSTER shot to right. I still don't think it has landed, but if I had to guess, it must have went AT LEAST 335 feet. A true bomb if there ever was on.

Haven't posted in a while so I just wanted to inform you guys. It is only 2-1 now in the top of the 2nd, but I think this is the game the Yankees turn it around. I don't know why, but I just think today will be the day that the Yankees start hitting, start pitching, and most importantly, start winning.

As I was writing that, the on fire Johnny Damon just hit a RBI triple and the Yankees lead 3-1. This is the time, mark my words.

Manny Being Manny

As you all know by now, Manny Ramirez has been suspended 50 games for testing positive for a banned substance. Here's what he had to say:

"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons."

"I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation."

It turned out this drug has HCG, a woman's fertility drug that many steroid users take after their cycle to increase testosterone.

Is it just me, but at this point, nothing is shocking. Nothing is surprising, and it's truly a shame. This is just another black cloud over baseball.

I hate that people are defending him and blaming the doctor. I am sorry, but baseball players have been lying for so long, when someone semi-admits something, everyone is ok with it. I can't believe how many people believe this hogwash. Manny knew what he was taking. He says NOW its his responsibility? No, it was always his responsibility to know what he was putting into his body and its his doctors as well to know what is and isn't allowed. If Manny was prescribed a drug that he did not know was banned, he would be suing his doctor for $7 mil, the amount he will be losing because of this suspension. Manny is admitting he has a sexual problem and blaming is doctor for the rest. I am done believing these players when they give us so few details.

When will someone just admit to everything? Not A-Rod admitting to three years when it looks like it may be more. Not Giambi "apologizing", but never specifying what exactly he was apologizing for. Not Bonds and Sheff saying "I didn't know what I was taking". Take a tip from Andy Pettitte. Say you did something wrong, say you knew it at the time (because you all did), and move on. Odds are a new name will be released by the time your apology is over and everyone will forget about you.

One last point, everyone is calling for the other 103 names on that A-Rod list to be released, but I got a better idea. How bout we get a list of all the players who NEVER took steroids, that list would take a lot less time to read and will allow us to go back to focusing on the game of baseball.

Tonight's Game:

That was an amazing game by the way. C.C. looked like the pitcher we actually signed, A-Rod went deep on the 1st pitch of his season (already has more homers than Big Papi. HA!), and Damon kept his hot hitting up. Yea, Teixeira is still struggling and so is Jeter, but the team looked good tonight and the bullpen got the night off.

Hopefully Hughes can keep it going tomorrow and even if he can't, the Yankees should hit enough against Adam Eaton and his 7.00 ERA to get the win

Whether you love him or you hate him.....

We need Alex Rodriguez.

Courtesy of Peter Abraham:

The Yankees have used Cody Ransom, Ramiro Pena and Angel Berroa at third base in the absence of Rodriguez. They have hit a combined .202 with a .248 OBP and a .283 SLG. They have no home runs and 10 RBI.

These numbers speak for themselves. Even if you hate A-Rod (as I am getting close to considering the tipping of the pitches), he makes this line-up much deeper.

Hopefully he plays well tonight, gives Teixeira some good pitches to look at and the Yankees do something with the catching situation because if we have Cervelli and Cash for an extended period of time, kiss the playoffs goodbye.

Back with more tomorrow (possibly)

Update:

Of course A-Rod hit a home run on the 1st pitch, of course he did.

Steven Jackson gets Designated for Assignment to make room for Kevin Cash. This is confusing, his hits per 9 innings at AAA were not that great, but he had a 1.88 ERA and with A-Rod coming back, the obvious move is to DFA Angel Berroa. Interesting. Kinda makes you feel like more moves are on the way. Stay tuned!

Update #2

This has absolutely nothing to do with baseball, at all, but being the huge movie nerd that I am, I had to tell all of you to go to http://www.mnuspreadslies.com/post.php?id=331 and check out the new trailer for the upcoming film District-9, it is going to be amazing.

Posada Injured, Yanks not prepared

Well, who saw this coming?

After playing in 51 games last year, and then starting off this season batting .312/.402/.584 with four homers and 20 RBI, Jorge Posada is back on the disabled list due to a hamstring injury.

For those of you who have been following my blog from the beginning, you will know that I put Jorge Posada as the 2nd most important person in the Yankee organization this year, and the most important player overall. If an Outfielder went down (as it has, with Xavier Nady), Nick Swisher or Melky Cabrera were ready to take over, If Tex went down, Swish could go there as well.

With Posada on the other hand, just like last year, we now have the one and only Jose "Panda" Molina being our everyday catcher for the time being. Now, this injury is not as large as it was last year, the Yankees are saying he will only be out 2-3 weeks, but the whispers inside the clubhouse are that it may actually be closer to 3-5 weeks.

This year I was finally beginning to lighten up on Panda Molina. He was doing a decent enough job as a back up and Posada was playing so well it made me completely forget about his injury. Well, that was a bad idea. As soon as A-Rod is getting ready to come back, we have another big bat, possibly our best hitter so far this year, going down.

As seen last year, the AL East is a battle until the end. It is no longer just the Yankees and Red Sox, the Rays are clearly a force to be reckoned with, and even though I don’t see it lasting all year, Toronto is currently in first place right now at 19-10.

I don't know if the Yankees can handle having Jose Molina and his line of .216/.263/.313. They called up Francisco Cervelli from AA, the man who I think will be Posada's back up next year. He won’t contribute much, considering he was at AA and was hitting .190, so for the next month or so, don’t expect anything out of our catcher spot. It is going to be ugly. I think the Yankees should be able to deal with this for a month and still make the playoffs, but if they don’t, this can be a huge factor.

It all goes back to this past offseason, when the Yankees spent the entire year without a catcher and still decided not to sign a back-up catcher who can hit half way decently. Gerald Laird, Gregg Zaun and Ramon Hernandez were all available this offseason through free agency or trade availability. The Yankees could have offered Pudge arbitration, something I talked about numerous times on Talkin' Baseball.

I am a big supporter of Brian Cashman but one thing he doesn’t pay enough attention to is the bench and it is times like this where my support for him decreases a little bit. Posada was out all of last year; we got no production from out C spot and didn’t make the playoffs. Posada only got a year older, was there any chance this could happen again and maybe this time we could actually prepare for it?

Like I said, the Yankees should be able to get through this, especially with A-Rod coming back, but it still is upsetting to see Posada go down and to see that we still have no catching depth. It will be great in two years when Romine and Montero are actually old enough to legally drink, which means they will be about ready to play in the majors. Until then, enjoy Posada and the Panda, the greatest catching tandem in the history of baseball. One can no longer stay healthy and the other is a panda.

Now that I am thinking about this, maybe we can't survive this. Right now, our Starting 3B who is one of the best players in baseball is on the DL. Joining him there are his own back-up Cody Ransom, our starting Catcher, Jorge Posada, who was hitting .312, the two guys who were supposed to be our 8th inning guys in Damaso Marte and Brian Bruney, and our #2 starter in Chien-Ming Wang. That's 6 players who were supposed to be major players this year, all on the DL. How are the Yankees over .500?

I Hear You Knocking but you Can't Come in

Joolz and I were at the Yankee game last night. Got there at 6:30, didn’t leave until around 1:30. There was never an announcement made that the game was cancelled, so why did people leave and expect to be able to get back in?

If you guys didn’t hear, there were riots at Yankee Stadium last night and multiple people got arrested because they thought the game was cancelled, and they left, but when they found out the game was still on, they were not allowed back in.

Maybe I sound like a jerk, but I have no sympathy for these people. If you know anything about baseball, you know that as soon as the game is cancelled, there will be a formal announcement, don’t base your plans off of what some random guy says when you're at the urinal.

Also, the number one rule of baseball stadiums, of football stadiums, concerts and whatnot is, if you leave, you can't come back in. Everyone knows that, its common sense. If there is no formal announcement, don't leave. If you do leave, don’t complain when they don’t let you back in.

Hot Dog, Hot Dog Man

Outside of Mark Teixeira's two home runs, the highlight yesterday definitely came during the two hour and 20 minute rain delay. "Macho Man" was playing and the hot dog vender gave us all his cover of it entitled "Hot Dog Man". Sounds dumb, but I guarantee that if you were there you would have gotten a kick out of, especially you Mike from Manhatten.

Rain Out

Pretty much the worst combination of words in the english language. I was really looking forward to seeing Hughes pitch again, looks like we will have to wait another day.

On a side note, Damaso Marte and his $12 million over the next three years and his 15.19 ERA are on the DL. Great. Anthony Claggett is back with the team to replace him on the roster, remember him?

The next 4 year $52 mil man

Hey guys!

Sorry it has been so long since I last updated, I just haven't gotten around to it with school and such. There have been reports swirling since last week when the A's came into town that Matt Holliday would be interested in playing Left Field for the Yankees next year so it got me thinking about what the outfield will be looking like in 2010 and who I personally wanted to see.

Next year, coming off the books we have five players. Hideki Matsui ($13 mil), Johnny Damon (also $13 mil) Andy Pettitte ($5.5 mil), Xavier Nady ($6.5 mil) and Jose Molina ($2 mil), doing some quick math that means we have about $40 mil coming off the books. But, C.C. Sabathia's contract increases by $9 mil next year and Nick Swisher's increases by $1.5 mil, meaning we actually have closer to $30 mil coming off the books.

Nick Swisher has proven all of the nay-Sayers wrong (pretty much the people who didn't know who he was and then fell in love with him once the season started), so I believe he will be the starting RF next year. Austin Jackson is currently hitting .371/.444/.468 at AAA. He has no home runs, but 10 RBI, 2 doubles, 2 triples and is 6/6 in stolen base attempts. He is still only 22 right now so his power will continue to develop and while many people think he will reach the majors this year, at the very least he should be ready for the CF job in 2010.

That leaves us only with LF to fill. Here is a list of all the 2010 free agent LF's, courtesy of mlbtraderumors.com:

Garret Anderson (38)
Marlon Anderson (36)
Jason Bay (31)
Emil Brown (35)
Carl Crawford (28) - $10MM club option with a $1.25MM buyout
Johnny Damon (36)
David Dellucci (36)
Cliff Floyd (37)
Matt Holliday (30)
Jacque Jones (35)
Gabe Kapler (34)
Greg Norton (37)
Wily Mo Pena (28)
Manny Ramirez (38) - $20MM player option
Dave Roberts (38)
Fernando Tatis (35)

Wow, that is pretty much a whole bunch of nothing. Of that entire list, only four names are interesting, Jason Bay, Manny Ramirez, Matt Holliday and Carl Crawford. I am a firm believer that Jason Bay will re-sign with the Red Sox so that rules him out. Manny will exercise his option and he is certifiably insane so that rules him out. That really only leaves Crawford and Holliday. Crawford does have that $10 mil club option, but if he reaches incentives this year, that option is raised to $11.5 mil. While Crawford is probably worth that much, it may be too much for the Rays to handle.

Signing Matt Holliday would be a terrible idea, lets be honest. He will be 30 years old when we will be a team still trying to get younger. Not only has he not had any power this year in Oakland, but from during the last month and a half last year in the friendly confines of Coors Field, he only managed to hit one home run. So far this year he is hitting .240/.288/.360 with 1 HR and 12 RBI. His power is gone, and when you're a power hitter without power, your patience usually goes as well, considering the .288 OB% when his career number is .383.

I know its early, and he can still turn it around, but dating back to last year (as well as spring training where he had zero home runs), there are many troubling signs. If somehow Holliday performs so poorly he will be forced to take a one year deal to re-establish himself a-la Bobby Abreu, then maybe you pull the trigger on a Holliday deal, but if he gets the contract he is looking for (and honestly, when was the last time Scott Boras didn't get someone to pay for a big name?), we can't continue to hand out multi year deals for almost $100 mil to aging outfielders. That is one reason we are in this situation.

My pick for 2010 left fielder, as you probably can tell from before, is Carl Crawford. He will only be 28, has great speed and is currently hitting .283/.350/.359 with 9 stolen bases in 9 attempts. He fits into either the lead off spot or the #2 hole perfectly and has a nice left handed swing for Yankee Stadium. If we were to give him a 4 year deal for $52 mil (I think that is the necessary rate for Yankee Left Fielders after Damon and Matsui), we would still have approximately $17 mil off the books with no positions to fill outside of the bench. This can only happen of course, if the Rays decline his option, so lets pray for that.

This will be brought up in a future post, but with that $17 mil remaining, I think you need to spend it on Chone Figgins. He is a super-sub who can literally play every infield and outfield position except for 1B, but we got one of those. With Posada, A-Rod and Jeter all getting older, we are going to need to get them some spots at DH. With Hideki Matsui being a full time DH this year, next year with Figgins it will be nice to have a guy who can hit, but also play the field and give almost everyone a day off. You give him $10 mil a year (if that) and the Yankees still reduce payroll by $7 mil.

Sounds easy on paper, so it must be this simple in real life, right? Right? Tell me what you guys think though. Should we give Holliday a shot in left? Is Carl Crawford the answer? Do we resign Damon or do something that really makes no sense and sign Cliff Floyd or Jacque Jones? (that was a joke, please don't hurt my feelings anybody and say one of those names)

On a side note, this is nothing against Johnny Damon, I love the guy and hes a great left fielder, but he will be 35 so it is clearly time to move on. No more multi year deals for 35 year old's!

On another side note, I added another blog link on the side to the right, its Kevin Schwoer's The Future Machine! It has nothing to do with sports, but if you like Comics, TV, Movies, creative writing and great humor, check it out. If you don't, then you probably should not check it out because it involves a lot of talk about comics, TV, movies and its written creatively and has great humor. Your decision!
